Behind the Scenes of our Winter Shoot

There’s no place like the city for the holidays (is that how the expression goes?), so New York was the perfect location to shoot our Winter campaign. Set against the sleek surfaces of an urban backdrop, the embellishments, textures, and hues of our Winter collection shine.

Today we invite you on set with our fabulous crew to get an exclusive glimpse behind the lens. From hair and makeup to models and stylists to photographers, this is where the magic happens.

Is anyone else itching to get into the holiday spirit?

Inspiration: Winter 2016

With our Winter collection making its grand debut soon (hint: two new collections will be available to shop next week!), we are sharing some of the inspiration behind the new textures, trends, and colors you are about to see.

This season, our designers were inspired by the tranquil world of the Far East. Textures are rich and luscious; the style is elegant and sultry. The collection lends a nod to elements of Asian ornamentation: it is soft and sensual with an art deco edge and geometric lines. Romantic hues dominate, accented by hints of shimmer and berry. We’re enchanted, and we think you will be, too…

Regal embellishments: Embroidery and studs add grandeur and a festive feel to the season, while lace adds femininity.

Patchwork: Patchwork prints were all over the runways, and high contrast combinations create an impactful geometric look.

Stripes: Stripes never go out of style, but they are made new again this season with minimalistic lines and strategic placement.

Black and white: This color combination is always right, and it takes on an especially sophisticated and contemporary feel this season.

Pink: The pink of this season is a soft, dusty blush with a romantic feel.

Sage green: Serene and soft, the green of the season is wistful and elegant.

Color Palette: muted pink and green, soft neutrals, deep metallic, and a pop of berry comprise the color palette of the season.

Who is ready to start their shopping for the season ahead?

Behind Brinley

One of our favorite styles for Fall is most definitely the Brinley. With its on-trend top handle and structured silhouette, it is simultaneously classic and of-the-moment. We chatted with our design team about their inspiration behind the bag and are letting you in on a few of their secrets:

Brinley is our answer to the leading trend of the top handle lady bag. The structured flap lends a refined look, while the crossbody function makes it easy to wear. The gold hardware adds a fresh twist to the classic silhouette, with its oversized rings, grommets, and turn lock closure. Not forgetting functionality, we included our signature inside organization along with a roomy back slide in pocket perfect for quick access.

Blogger Sheryl Luke of Walk in Wonderland styled the Brinley in Forest Melbourne, and we love her neutral-hued fall look. Isn't Forest the perfect autumn shade?

Our Fall Fashion Celebration

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Brahmin boutiques last week to celebrate fall fashion with us. We had a blast, and from the photos circulating on social media it seems like you did, too!

The evening started with some excitement as the first 10 guests to arrive received special gifts. Guests were also excited to shop our new fine jewelry collection (debuting online soon!) and to personalize their purchases through our new Monogram Shop (shop now!). Sipping champagne and nibbling on light bites made shopping all the more fun...doesn't it always?! Finally, each store gave away one free handbag to a lucky lady who made a purchase of $250 or more during the event…were you the winner?

If you were unable to attend, here is a glimpse through some of our favorite fan photos:

If you attended the event at one of our stores, did you spot yourself? Thank you for joining the fun!

The Vault Is Open

Get excited, Brahmin fans – we are opening the doors of the Vault! For a special limited edition collection, we are bringing back a favorite style from our archives, reinvented with artful application and attention to detail. Handcrafted in Massachusetts, this handbag is one of a kind.

For our newest Vault bag, we are bringing back Bag #52, aka the Baby Basic. For those of you who may remember its first rendition in the late 80s, this was one of Joan Martin’s favorite styles that she designed. The 80s are back, and so is this best-selling style.

Back in the 80s, a shoulder bag was the second best seller to the satchel. I had learned by being in the stores that function is as important as style. In making not one but two outside pockets, I could accomplish a double convenience of two with the front one carrying the curb appeal.

At that time we adding a curved band of leather on the top of the front pocket, echoing the two top collars on either side of the zipper. These proved to enhance the croc accent in Tuscan as well as an additional spot to add color in our tricolor. This cured band also sported the decorative brass buttons which often caused folks to call our first tricolor “the button bags”! I added extenders on both ends of the zipper allowing us to offer the zip top with the largest opening.
— Joan Martin

This all-purpose style can be carried as a shoulder bag, crossbody, or large clutch. It is a wardrobe workhorse…spacious (larger than your average crossbody) and great for traveling.

A favorite then, now and always. Own a piece of Brahmin’s heritage with this best-selling style and get yours here before we close the Vault doors.

Introducing: Our Monogram Shop

Get ready, ladies: we have big news today! For the first time ever, you can monogram your favorite Brahmin handbags. We are proud to unveil our Monogram Shop! You are now able to put your personal touch on select items, making our handbags and accessories uniquely yours. Ready to start monogramming? Here are the details:

You can monogram any handbag that has our signature schooner hanging medallion. Your initials (up to 3) will be engraved on the back side of the medallion, and the medallion will be slightly larger than usual to accommodate the monogram.

It’s easy! On the product page, select the monogram option and enter your initials as you would like them to appear.

Do you believe that a beautiful desk makes for a happy work space? Journals may also be personalized, and the monogram will appear on the gold plaque at the bottom. Again, the plaque will be slightly larger than usual to fit the monogram.

If you want to get even more personal, you can add a key fob to your handbag to let your style shine through.

Please note that there is an additional charge of $10 for monogramming, and all monogrammed items are final sale. Please allow 4-5 days for your personalized items to ship. For more details, learn more here. We cannot wait to see how you personalize your Brahmin!

October Issues

No sooner than we finished flipping through our hefty September fashion magazines did our October issues arrive in our mailboxes. Brahmin made headlines again in this coming month’s magazines, and we are thrilled to share these editor picks with you.

Our Sonny has been the it silhouette of fall, and Harper’s Bazaar selected this style in Black Charleston as a fall must. In the softest leather in classic black, we agree that this will be a closet staple for years to come.

InStyle declared texture a fall wardrobe essential, and our Carina in Stone Carlisle has texture in spades.

Glamour gets wild this month and is feeling all things snakeskin, especially our Lily Clutch in Brown Tyndale.

We highly recommend spending the first weekend of fall cozied up with a cup of coffee and a magazine or two…

Leopard Is A (Fall) Neutral

We prescribe to the notion that leopard is a neutral, and this fashion fact rings especially true in fall. We are already imagining all the ways we will wear the Creme Surrey collection, adding a pop of leopard in luxe calf hair to our ensembles. Whether as a wild element for a little black dress on date night or slightly more subtle inside a black handbag for a coffee run, we want to incorporate leopard into everything we wear.

Shop the collection here: Lily clutch, Suri wallet
